Meet the Founders

Rod Palmer, Co-Founder of Dwell at Home

Rod Palmer

Co-Founder

From a young age, Rod grew up with a guiding truth: you take care of your own, and you show up when people need you most. In his family, caring for others wasn't an event — it was a way of life.

As Rod grew older, that calling deepened — especially toward seniors. He saw how quickly independence can change, and how deeply families long for dependable support. He felt the weight families carry when trying to make the best choices for the people who raised them, loved them, and carried them through life.

When his own parents began needing more care, everything became real. He experienced firsthand how confusing, fragmented, and impersonal the senior care world can be. Services were costly. Communication felt inconsistent. Too often, families felt like just another case file instead of cherished human beings.

"I knew seniors deserved better — not just care, but dignity. And families deserved more — not just a schedule, but a partner they can trust."

That conviction became Dwell at Home. Rod and Mike built the company they wished their own families had — support rooted in trust, delivered with consistency, and shaped by strong, faith-aligned values.

Mike Clark

Co-Founder

Mike was young when he first watched his dad and granddad care for the widows in their farming community — sharing vegetables from the garden, milk from their cows, and showing up whenever someone needed help.

They never asked for recognition. They simply believed loving and serving seniors was the right thing to do. That's how Mike was raised: to respect, honor, and care deeply for seniors.

As he grew older, what began as small acts of service became a lifelong calling. At church, Mike joined a ministry called "Cheer Givers," visiting shut-in seniors, listening to their stories, and praying with them. Those moments taught him what true companionship looks like — and how much it matters to those who feel forgotten.

"Families were overwhelmed. Seniors were underserved. And in our hearts, we knew: this is not how care should be."

Dwell at Home is Mike and Rod's answer to that calling — a return to what they learned growing up. Care rooted in dignity, compassion, trust, and the strength of family. A place where seniors are honored, families are supported, and love is at the center of everything they do.
